K-laser Therapy

K-laser is a form of therapy that uses red and near-infrared light in order to help tissues heal.

The use of red and near-infrared light helps to:

  • Provide pain relief/reduction
  • Enhance repair/remodeling/regeneration of tissues

Some of the most frequently asked questions are:

  1. What are the contraindications?
    1. K-laser cannot be used directly into the eye, over the thyroid gland, used for a patient with active cancer or treating a pregnant patient
  2. How am I protected during the treatments?
    1. Safety glasses will be worn by both the practitioner and patient
    2. This ensures protection of the eye
  3. I have a metal implant, can K-laser still be used?
    1. Yes, we are able to safely treat over metal plates, pins, screws etc.
  4. Can you treat through clothing?
    1. No, the types of light used are not able to go through clothing. The use of K-laser is directly applied on the skin. The same goes for a cast, bandage or taping; the laser will be unable to penetrate.
  5. How many treatments do I need?
    1. This is patient and condition dependent
  6. How does it feel?
    1. During the treatment you will feel a warm sensation. You may also have immediate relief following your treatment. You may also have some soreness following treatment; however, symptoms should diminish within a few hours.
